Job Captain [Open]

Exercises independent judgment in evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, and solves problems when encountered. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of architectural principles, practices and procedures to complete assignments with originality and ingenuity. Anticipates job expectations and contributes to project and design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Modifies or creates implementation documents and complex drawings with limited guidance, applying architectural techniques and procedures requiring independent judgment

  • May coordinate design group interaction both internally and externally, including assisting with consultant team work sessions

  • Manages project work of the architectural team as appropriate

  • Performs design computations and document preparation, including maintaining the information flow to the project team, to reflect the design intent in implementation documents and coordinating with consultants to confirm systems work

  • Assists with review, modification and coordination of implementation documents prior to issue, including collaborating to validate that code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are met

  • Assignments may include higher-level work for training/development purposes

  • Executes deliverables according to scope of services and S+A standards, best practices, and quality expectations

  • May attend client or consultant meetings

  • Participates in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplines

  • Recognizes the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in the project’s and firm’s profitability

  • Responsible for the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time, including accountability to project plan and planned utilization rate

  • Understands the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business development

  • May assist in pursuit of new project opportunities either through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clients

Qualifications:

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field

  • Actively pursuing Architectural Registration

  • Typically 4+ years of experience

  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred

  • Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and 3D modeling software (including Rhino and Grasshopper) preferred

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software preferred

  • Familiarity with computational design and parametric modeling preferred

  • Familiarity with energy modeling preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred

  • Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines

  • Strong knowledge of architectural building systems

  • Knowledge of QA/QC and specification process

  • Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing

Design Professional I & II - Arch. [Open]

Contributes and assists in developing project and design solutions to advance respective projects while working independently with guidance. Eager to learn and innovate. Anticipates job expectations while performing design and technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Modifies or creates implementation documents, applying standard architectural techniques and procedures and according to written and verbal specifications with general supervision

  • Collaborates on design and technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project

  • Assists in preparing client presentations and presents project design intent

  • Performs product research; assists project designers with material selection and system research

  • May support research of code and zoning requirements

  • May attend on-site visits, field reviews and client and/or project meetings and documents these visits as appropriate

  • Assists in preparing schedules and reviewing implementation documents and samples as needed

  • Communicates with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate information into design, project requirements and documents as needed

  • Participates in team meetings to discuss project issues, design and technical issues and coordination with other disciplines

  • Recognizes the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in the project’s and firm’s profitability

  • Experience with built projects preferred, interest in the relationship between space and construction.

  • Able to think proactively while participating in a tight-knit, collaborative working environment that values excellence, innovation and civic purpose.

  • Strong Proficiency in AutoCad, Sketchup, Revit, Rhino, Adobe suite and Excel software required.

  • Skills in hand drawing, sketching, physical modeling and digital modeling are highly valued.

  • Organizational and research skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – visual and verbal.

Summer Internship 2025

As an intern, you will work alongside our architects and designers on real-world projects, gaining exposure to every phase of the architectural process—from conceptual design to construction documentation. You’ll contribute to innovative design solutions, learn industry-leading software like AutoCAD and Revit, and help create sustainable, cutting-edge spaces for our clients.

This internship is your chance to expand your creative and technical skills, collaborate with experts in the field, and develop a strong portfolio that showcases your contributions to impactful projects. You will gain a diverse experience in a supportive, dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Architecture or related field

  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.)

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • A keen interest in sustainable design and innovation

  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a team
