This solution to an existing school site provides a new elementary school of 81,350 SF plus the renovation of an existing 10,700 SF building. The design solution made use of a single phase of construction featuring a new school with a strong community focus. The plan allows for easy community use of the media center and multi-purpose stage with a welcoming entry icon feature. Security is maintained by separate academic wings, organized by grade level surrounding a landscaped courtyard. Primary circulation via an interior connector is known as an “Academic Street”. The design is energy efficient with many sustainable features and meets all OCPS standards.
